Breast Cancer Research

If you are in the hospitality industry and are struggling with breast cancer, we direct a portion of our donations to as well as work with charities who can directly support you. While Speed Rack cannot directly give individuals funds as we are not a 501(c)3, some of our charities can.

Whether you are in need of financial assistance or support groups, we can point you in the right direction of our beneficiaries who can directly help you. 

Less than 15% of food and beverage workers have healthcare, and these organizations can help

Southern Smoke Foundation helps hospitality workers with the assistance they need to alleviate their financial burdens during troubling times. Additionally, they offer counseling for those in need. Their grants are available year-round, and applications must be submitted within six months of an unforeseen crisis.  Applicants are eligible for funding once every 12 months and may receive funding twice within a four-year period. To qualify, you must currently be employed in the food and beverage industry, working a minimum of 30 hours per week for at least six months. Additionally, your unforeseen crisis must have occurred within the six months prior to your application date.

Giving Kitchen directly pays housing and utility bills for qualified hospitality workers experiencing a crisis such as breast cancer. These resources can help keep families fed and housed. Additionally, Giving Kitchen provides referrals to community resources related to substance misuse, physical health and wellness, employment, housing & utilities, and family & social services to get food service workers the assistance they need. Their grants are available year round.

Another Round Another Rally is a nonprofit financial and educational resource for the hospitality industry. They provide reimbursement grants and supply emergency assistance to those employed in restaurants, bars, and hotels who have fallen on unexpected hardship. Hospitality workers facing a cancer diagnosis may apply for financial assistance through Another Round Another Rally’s Chris Patino Grant Program that we directly donate to. Awardees of this program will receive a grant of $2500 to help supplement unexpected expenses and loss of income due to this diagnosis. Grants are awarded to eligible applicants experiencing the most pressing needs as funding becomes available.
