The Event

Speed Rack was founded in February of 2011 by Mix and Marrero has been able to shine a spotlight on femme mixologists world wide for over 16 years. While they are at it, they raise money for breast cancer research, education, and prevention.

The two got Speed Rack off the ground after Mix brought her concept of an all-femme speed bartending competition to Marrero, the then president of the NY chapter of LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails), an organization that promotes women in the spirit industry while raising funds for local and national charities. In its first year, Speed Rack engaged over 400 bartenders across the country and raised $250,000. Since then, Speed Rack has raised over $2,000,000 to date and has traveled the globe in the pursuit of fighting for diversity behind bars and stopping breast cancer.
